With the launch of Acelere Wheelz , Apollo tyres have entered the Indian alloy wheel market. These are positioned as automotive “fashion accessories” and a new collection will be introduced into the market every six months. Acelere Wheelz are a natural extension to Apollo’s high end tubeless passenger car tyre range and are available in 30 distinct styles , sized between 13 to 17 inches. MRF WANDERER tyre range
MRF , India’s largest automobile tyre manufacturer , recently launched a new series of tyres branded MRF WANDERER. As the name suggests , they are meant for MUVs and SUVs in India. The WANDERER is an all-terrain tyre engineered for long life and high speed operation. They are uniquely designed with bold sidewall graphics which give a rugged look to the vehicle.
The reinforced steel-belt package under the tread , the multi-layered carcass and the sidewall prevent damage to the tyre no matter what the surface. These tyres are presently available in 235/75R15 , 235/70R16 and 215/75R15 sizes and can be fitted on all versions of the Mahindra Scorpio , Bolero , Xylo , and the Tata Safari and Sumo. We tested them on the Scorpio last month in Chennai and were quite impressed with the performance even in the wet! MapMyIndia has always been at the forefront when it comes to providing in-car GPS based nagivation systems. Infact , they are also an OEM to manufacturers in India. We got to test their Navigator Series 430 Classic GPS unit recently. Though it takes some time getting used to the features of the device , it proved to be a boon during many occasions last month. From finding our way back from the M&M plant in Nasik to finding the shortest route from our awards venue in Mumbai back to Pune , the Navigator has proved how the latest GPS based technology can make driving more convenient.
The device has a real time turn-by-turn navigation , graphical map guidance supported by voice instructions , a comprehensive map coverage covering 202 cities , 1 , 30 , 000 towns and villages , over 4 , 50 , 00 points of interests (like ATMs) , etc.
