<a href='BMW-cars-3' style=BMW 7-series" hspace="10" vspace="0" width="378" height="252" align="left" />Last month we featured the first drive of the new BMW 7-Series done by our colleagues. Now i had the opportunity to drive the new 7-Series which was launched at the Paris Motor Show. Every time we drive One of these super luxury cars , we feel that it will be impossible to better them. Yet every time a new model is launched , it makes the old car feel dated and inferior. This is also true about the new BMW 7-Series. It does not mean that the old 7-Series is a bad car but the new one has improved by leaps and bounds.

The new active four-wheel steering and the reworked suspension have taken this car far ahead in terms of ride and handling. The drive from Dresden into the countryside was through narrow and winding roads where one could test the handling capabilities of the car. The narrow roads meant that every time a truck or a bus came from the front one had to drop the car to absolute crawling speeds as it is a wide vehicle. The ride and handling qualities have improved tremendously as compared to the previous version as we drove both the cars back-to-back.

bmw 7-seriesThe new V8 turbocharged engine has turned this car into an absolute rocket ship. While overtaking other cars on a single lane country road , I floored the accelerator. After passing them , I took a glance at the speedometer. It read close to 200km/h and it was a 70km/h zone. Hitting the 250km/h limiter on the motorway was absolutely effortless. In fact , you hit the limiter so quickly that you are shocked. I look forward to seeing this car in India soon. I am sure prospective buyers will also be waiting anxiously to snap up the new 7-Series.

The V8 engine makes the new 7 Series fly. Just dab the right paddle and you wont know when the car nudges 200km/h. Under the running board , the 7 also has the equipment to make this long and heavy limo handle like a dream. Anyday , an owner in the drivers seat should prefer the 7-Series over the S-class.
